CMIR KNOWLE WEST BURSARIES
CMIR in association with Knowle West Media Centre offered bursaries to Young Artists in the Knowle West catchment:
4 x bursaries of of £400 for the creation of a work of moving image art by young people aged between 8 and 17.
It was intended that the work should be completed over summer 2014 to exhibited at Knowle West Media Centre Autumn 2014.
Open 10th June - Rolling deadline until 15th September, rolling decisions based upon applications
We required
a) description of proposed artwork
b) timeline for production
c) budget
We were keen that the artist discussed their project with an academic researcher from as near as inception as possible - through exhibition and audience response - or that the artist keeps a form of critical reflection diary whilst making their work.
This was discussed with Terry Flaxton or Sarah Sparke prior to application
Artists were put in touch with an academic researcher that helped them through the process.
Selection of successful bursaries was through a panel from UWE and Knowle West
