CMIR:ONE - CENTRESPACE POP-UP EXHIBITION December 2015
VISITOR COMMENTS :
Really relaxing - this is how the brain really works, it's nothing to do with logic - is it? Brilliant, quirky - I love this! An interesting, thought provoking, amusing and heart rending series of images. Do another show asap please ! Best Video exhibition I've seen in a long time. Interesting mix of technology and art ! |
The CMIR:ONE exhibition ran 5 - 9 Dec and was a first opportunity for a wider public to see moving image work and related art from those involved closely with the work of the centre.
CMIR:ONE was the first of a set of yearly exhibitions initiated by the Centre for Moving Image Research.
It showcased artists affiliated to CMIR whose work is primarily in video or film or is influenced by moving image in some way, shape or form. CMIR is one of the few research centres in the world which offers a Cinematography PhD trajectory in its widest sense and allows a deep exploration of the art and science of capturing and displaying moving images - from light into the lens to light bouncing off the silver screen - or through any haptic or sense-based installation work or display technology. We link with organisations and individuals to encourage and support experimental forms of moving image making. CMIR ONE was curated by Lucy Williams, CMIR affiliate and bursary winner.
