The moving Image knowledge exchange network
or simply attenMoving Image Arts Research is currently preparing the ground for a Knowledge Exchange Network between:
a) Arts and curators who work in Media Art (sound, data, image, computing etc
b) academics and academic institutions (affiliate HEI's, film schools)
c) professionals and affiliate Professional institutions (i.e. BSC, BKSTS)
d) cultural professionals in the moving image sphere and affiliate cultural institutions (i.e. BFI, Creative England and various international instituions)
The basis of this network will be a series of yearly face to face colloquiums in various international loations - the first one will be in Tuscany in August 2018. These will be connected so that a live network across the UK will enable experience of eachothers communities and their issues
SOme of these will be recorded and posted online so that each region may examine the issues that are particular to each region.
This will be backed up by an extensive online presence which will allow daily exchange between each of the groupings. An online Facebook page exists for daily debate: Reinventing Moving Image Art. All subscribers to the system will be able to engage in discussion topics within their own and within other groupings as well as being able to receive either individual posts, daily, weekly or monthly digests of discussions.
We are currently considering a form of 'lets' that enable transference of value between different communities that enables a form of monetisation of information and knowledge.
This is an ongoing initiative and comments and suggestions will be valued. Mail to Terry Flaxton or simply visit: Reinventing Moving Image Art
