Rachel has worked in the animation industry since 1999. She has had various roles within the industry as a Cel Renderer, Flash Animator for TV and Web series for children and adults, Web Designer and E-Commerce Designer, Photographer and Illustrator and Production Coordinator. Most recently she worked on a CGI children's TV series for Aardman as a Project Manager.
Rachel started her interest in animation at Glasgow School of Art where she studied for a BA Hons Visual Communication degree between 1994-98 specialising in Illustration and Animation. She has previously taught at the University of West of England as a Visiting Lecturer on the BA Animation degree and on the short courses unit as a Flash and Photoshop tutor.
My research interests lie with digital fabrication techniques and rapid prototyping for mutli- platform animation. My current practice involves photography and creating immersive art location apps. My aim is to develop immersive storytelling that entertains and educates audiences of all ages. I am interested in investigating, challenging and testing the potential of cost effective Digital Fabrication techniques in the production of a short form Animation film.
