Roberto Schaefer is internationally known for his cinematography on the Bond Film, ‘Quantum of Solace’. He has also shot ‘The Kite Runner’, ‘Finding Neverland’ and ‘Best in Show’ and many other well known films. On the International Movie Database, Schaefer can be found on many people’s choice of the 20 best living cinematographers. He has worked with stars as diverse as Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig, Kate Winslett, Dustin Hoffman, Ryan Gosling, Billie Bob Thornton, Halle Berry, Jon Cusak and Matthew McConaughey – the list goes on and on.
But Schaefer is also a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers and contributes to the discussions of various committees that develop the technical specifications with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and also with the Academy of Motion Pictures with initiatives like the Academy Colour Encoding system - which seeks to standardize the colour science of any motion picture capture, be it photochemical or electrical, from capture to display of any motion imaging format.
