'Vienna-Bristol-Riga: a journey through radicalism'
at encounters short film and animation festival,
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September

As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival has invited the Centre for Moving Image Research to co-curate a season of films exploring the theme of radicalism in association with the Bristol Radical Film Festival and the Radical Film Network.

Taking place at The Cube Microplex on Saturday 20th September, ‘Vienna-Bristol-Riga: a journey in radical filmmaking’ consists of three sessions of short films curated respectively by Encounters and the Bristol Radical Film Festival, Vienna Independent Shorts, and 2Annas International Film Festival in Latvia.

The session is part of a whole strand of events dedicated to exploring radicalism in the moving image at this year's festival. Preceded by the symposium, 'What is Radical Now?' at Bush House, Arnolfini, on Friday 19th, we return to The Cube on Sunday 21st for a variety of workshops, screenings and live performances with 8mm film.
