WORK ON RACISM 70's, 80'S and 90's

Starting with on Opening Up a student project in 1976, I began making work that tried to deal with issues around Racism and also Press bias - this work came about because a fellow student Gillian Swansonmade contact with anti racist teachers who allowed us into their classes as they worked with kids on relevant issues

COMING SHORTLY:
What follows will be a collation of excerpts of 4 works where I as a white person, who played in a band between 1966 and 1969 with a Jewish Drummer, Jeffrey Rich, a black & phenomenally talented guitarist, Mark Arthurwurrey and myself worked through intimate sharing and issues of race such that by the time I' come across video in 1976, I was free enough to have formed a basic opinion about race and power. It helped that Mark had two beautiful black feisty sisters and being hetero that soon sorted out what I thought about both women and black people and my own racist heritage.
